2 Years ♥

Ron, Kaitlyn and I are currently enjoying a wonderful vacation in the Galapagos Islands. I prescheduled this blog post because I didn't want this day to pass without sharing how happy I am to be celebrating the 2 -year anniversary of marriage to my best friend.

Two years ago today I vowed to love, honor, and respect Ron for for all the days of my life. I meant every word of my vows, but what I didn't realize was on that day I didn't love him as much as I one day would. I didn't (and couldn't) love him as much as I do today. As hard as it is to believe that he could make me happier and more proud than on our wedding day, he has.I always knew Ron would be an amazing father, but watching him with Kaitlyn blows my mind and melts my heart all at the same time. This makes me fall more in love with him everyday. For that reason (and so many more) I am so blessed to call him my husband.

How crazy is is that we've gone from this: to this... ...to this? So crazy! And I couldn't be happier. I love you, Bubba. Happy anniversary! xoxo

Website Review: Blurb.com

A couple of months ago I finally put together our honeymoon photo album. The honeymoon itself was put off, so it was fitting that the album was delayed, as well. As much as I love scrap booking, I just don't have the time (or patience) to have pictures printed, then cut them, cut and crop papers, arrange them then glue them down. It just ain't happening these days. So I decided to finally check into creating a digital scrapbook. I started by looking at Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery and other photo sites to see how their books worked. While they are all very cute and creative, I didn't like that I had to stick to their templates. The picture placement is done for you and there is no altering it. I wanted more options for the picture layouts. That's when I found Blurb. With Blurb, you create the entire book from scratch. You can change the layouts, add various backgrounds, text, etc. The possibilities are literally endless. I immediately got to work and I love the end result. It is the perfect coffee table book.
The quality of the book is great! The pages are nice and glossy and very professional. While it's not your typical scrapbook with colorful backgrounds, stickers, etc. it was so much fun to make. I've already started on Kaitlyn's First Year album using Blurb and I'm also loving the process!
Here are a few sample pages:

Are you ready for some football??

...Kaitlyn is!
I added some pictures to the bottom of this post of Kaitlyn sporting her 'Canes gear.

In the past few days we've brought out all of Kaitlyn's sports gear. It's pretty much a sure thing that she'll be getting lots of wear out of all of these outfits in the coming months.

Who's That Guy?

Today, Ron went out for a ride on the motorcycle and when he returned Kaitlyn and I were in the kitchen finishing up lunch. He came in with his helmet still on and at first Kaitlyn was a little cautious, but she quickly warmed up to him once she heard Daddy's voice.

She gets an "A" for effort...

Remember when you had to do pull-ups during gym class in school? (I don't really know many people who still do them...except for Ron, on occassion.) Well, remember how you would kick your legs while trying to pull yourself up? As if kicking your legs would somehow help you get your chin above that bar? Here is Kaitlyn trying to apply that same theory to crawling. She so wants to move!

Kaitlyn is 7 Months Old!

At 7 months old, Kaitlyn:
  • is getting bigger! (We don't have weight/height stats this time because there were no doctor visits.)
  • is wearing size 6 month clothes. She has a couple of 3 month items that she can still wear and the 6-9 month are a bit big, but she's getting there.
  • is sitting up on her own. She still falls over every so often, but she's gotten much stronger.
  • loves to drink water from a regular cup (but she still hasn't mastered a sippy cup).
  • has babbled: dada, nana and mama.
  • now sleeps unswaddled (at night). It so cute to see her in all sorts of positions with her hands usually up near her face. ADORABLE!
  • can find her binky in the crib, pick it up and put it back in her mouth.
  • makes it difficult to change her diaper. She always wants to roll over!
  • can pull herself up to a standing position while holding on to Mommy's shirt.
  • has decided she is not a fan of peaches, but still is a great eater, otherwise.
  • is still not crawling, which only frustrates her.
  • has no idea that college football season starts today and she will be "the baby divided" once a week for the next 4 months. :)

Trying out the "big" tub

Two nights ago we decided to give Kaitlyn her bath in the regular bathtub for the first time. (The faucet in the tub seems to have cleared up, so the water no longer comes out orange-ish/brown.) We were very excited for her to experience bath time in the "big" tub because we thought it would be so much more fun for her. Boy, were we wrong!

She was very happy as we got her ready to go in:

But when it was time, she wasn't liking it:

...which, led to this:

and Daddy loved it! We ended up giving her a bath on the kitchen counter in her blue tub like we normally do.

Tonight, we decided to use the blue tub, but put it in the big tub so she could get used to the bathroom. She had no problem.even letting Daddy style her hair. :)

Next time, we're going to start her off in the blue tub (within the big tub), then take away the blue tub and see how she does. I told her she's missing out on all the fun that comes a long with a big tub, so I think she'll come around soon.
