Pregnancy: Week 19

Week 19: Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

We had our big ultrasound this week (after it was cancelled last week) and we are happy to announce that we are having a BOY! :)  We are beyond thrilled, as both Ron and I wanted a boy.  Baby Boy was more than cooperative during the ultrasound and there was no mistaking his gender.  Before the doctor even said a word, after one look, Ron threw a celebratory fist in the air.  We don't have any names picked out just yet.  We agreed not to even discuss it until we knew what we were having and neither of us came into this pregnancy with a favorite.  So, we're definitely open to suggestions.  Here is a pic of Baby Boy Tambo:
When we were home last, we bought this shirt for Kaitlyn:
and I just purchased this for Baby Boy:
We're going to have so much fun shopping for the little guy! :)

Congratulations, Michelle and Ron. You must be thrilled that you'll have a child on both the men's and women's basketball teams at Florida State.

Shopping for boys is a lot of fun! However, I have never shopped for girls, but I'm sure it is a ton of fun too! Now you get to do both! :)
