On the morning of Monday, August 16, I checked into the hospital for my scheduled induction.
Of course Daddy was eager to dress his boy in Orange & Green...yuck! But, he wears it well and not even the ugliest of color combinations can make him look bad. :)
We are all so in love with Jonathan! He's such a great baby.
Ready to go "home"!
I love those toes!
One of the things that brings me the most joy is watching Kaitlyn with her brother. She is all about smothering him with kisses. She says "Hi baby" about 200 times throughout the day and occasionally says "hold baby" when she wants to hold him.
Jonathan had a follow up with his pediatrician at 5 days old and all is well. He weighed 6lbs. 6oz. at the doctor's office, which was great because the doctor said we could start stretching out his night time feedings. Instead of ever 3 hours, I've been waking him up every 4 hours to eat. Now we're just trying to get all of the last minute things taken care of before the kids and I move to Tel Aviv in approximately 6 weeks. I can't wait until we're all together in our new home!
Today we took Kaitlyn for a swim in the pool at the apartment complex we're staying in. We randomly decided to bring the video recorder and we're so glad we did. She was a swimming superstar today!! There were a few older girls swimming and jumping in the pool and I think Kaitlyn felt the need to impress them. She really surprised us and once again, I'm so proud of her...Check it out:
Month 9 (weeks 37 to delivery): At week 37, your pregnancy is considered full term, meaning baby is likely to thrive after birth. Baby spends these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. Meconium, which you’ll probably find in the first diaper, is accumulating in the intestines. If (okay, as) you worry about giving birth, consider what it’s like for the little one. During the journey out of your womb, baby will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life.
I am 39 weeks today! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy seems to have flown by! Ron is back here in the States and we are anxiously waiting for Baby Boy T to decide he's ready to see the world. Ron flew home a week early after my doctor told me he didn't think I'd make it another week and a half...it's been exactly a week since then. I hope we didn't spend the extra money to change his flight for nothing, but in a way, it was worth it for the peace of mind of knowing he won't miss the birth and he has been amazing with making sure I get rest and keeping Kaitlyn entertained--and she is just beyond thrilled that Daddy is home!
I feel good aside from the fact that I started to feel sick a few days ago and woke up with a sore throat and congestion this morning...ugh! This should make labor a real pleasure. :) I'm hoping I can get rid of it quickly and feel semi-normal when it's go-time. In the meantime, we're enjoying our last days as a family of three...and still trying to decide on a name for Baby Boy!
On Sunday, my friends and family threw me a beautiful baby shower! It was a lovely day and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
My very talented sister-in-law decorated the cake. You can see more of her creations here: Baked With Love by Lisa

Co-workers turned friends. I love these ladies. :)
The best part of the weekend? A unexpected visit from my friend Kim! On Saturday, I was waiting for Liane and Kyle to arrive. As she drove up to the apartment I noticed a car driving pretty close behind her, but didn't pay attention to who was inside. When the car stopped in front of me, I was shocked to see Kim in the passenger seat! What a fantastic surprise! Having her there made the day so much more special.

Love the familia...
It really was such a wonderful day! Thank you to all who helped put it together.
(Please excuse the out of focus picture. I desperately need to get the camera out more often.)At 18 months, Kaitlyn:
- weighs approximately 23 lbs.
- is still wearing size 3 diapers.
- is finally wearing size 18 month clothes.
- is wearing size 5/6 shoes.
- is talking SO much! Her vocabulary amazes me. It seems like every day she says something new and I think, "How did you know that??"
- has recently become aware of cartoon characters. She LOVES Elmo and Mickey Mouse!!
- is loving spending the summer in Miami. She's spent lots of time with her Nanas, Papas, Aunts and Cousins. But she does miss her Daddy, so it will be a great day when we're all together again and enjoying new adventures in Tel Aviv.
- is swimming!! She went from HATING swim class to being one of the most improved during the 2 week course. She has so much fun in the pool!
- is about to become a big sister! She has just 13 days (hopefully, no less) of life as an only child. I plan on soaking up every minute of Mommy/Kaitlyn time that I can.
