The house isn't quite back in order and there are still unwrapped gifts under the tree that haven't found a permanent home yet, but that's ok. It reminds me of all the excitement, laughs, cuddles, kisses and laziness that took place here over the weekend.
I am 100% convinced that Christmas as a parent is way better than Christmas as a child. Tell that to
my 6 year old self and I would have undoubtedly disagreed. There really is nothing like seeing your child enjoy the magic of Christmas and mystery of Santa. It's just awesome. And we haven't even really hit the peak of it yet since Kaitlyn still isn't quite old enough to truly get it. I'm sure next year will be even better!
Christmas Eve night, we bathed the kids as usual then got them in their Christmas pjs. We told Kaityn it was time to go downstairs to get the cookies and milk out for Santa. (Sidenote: I have no idea what's up with these first pics of Jonathan. He looks like a ghost. I didn't do any crazy editing, but the lighting was definitely whacky.)
We secretly arranged a webcam chat with Santa (her Papa T is personal friends with St. Nick, himself) and had the computer connected and ready to go when she came downstairs.
(Click here to see the video if you're reading this in email.)
As you can see, she's still not completely sold on the idea of Santa. We put the cookies and milk out then the kids were off to bed.
Santa was very good to me. I got the gorgeous Missy camera bag from Jo-Totes, which I adore!
And some oh-so-yummy White Chocolate Peanut Butter. This stuff is heavenly!
We are truly blessed. I hope everyone reading this had a great weekend, as well. Happy New Year!
