On Easter morning, Kaitlyn was the first to wake up. Surprisingly, she went downstairs and apparently scoped out the house for evidence of the Easter Bunny's visit while the rest of us were still asleep. (She usually doesn't go downstairs unless someone else is going with her.) Once she realized he had been there, she woke the rest of us up (at 6:45 a.m....not too bad considering the house was filled with goodies.) The kids ran back downstairs together to start hunting for their baskets and eggs.
After the kids found their treasures (and had a nice early-morning sugar intake), everyone got ready for church. These two sure do clean up well. :)
Kaitlyn's bestie, Emma, stopped by to swap Bunny stories with Kaitlyn before we headed out.
After church, we went to our friends' (Stan and Rachel) house for a yummy Easter lunch. We met Stan and Rachel when we were living in Israel and we noted that it was nice to be spending the Holy day with friends we met in the Holy Land. We should have gotten a picture with them, but Rachel was kind to take this family picture of us.
I brought this super yummy (and cute) Bacon Ranch Cheeseball as an appetizer. It was really easy to make and was quite the hit. (Thank you, Pinterest!) See below for the recipe.
Bacon Ranch Cheese Ball:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese at room temp1/2 (1/2 ounce) package hidden valley ranch dressing mix (dry)
1 cup cheddar cheese
5-6 pieces of crumbled bacon
1 tbsp. chopped green onion or chives (optional)
1 tbsp. Sour Cream (optional)
This will definitely go into my "Must Make Again" file.
Hope everyone else had a great Easter!
