Snippets of Summer 2016

I mentioned in my last post that we had a pretty low-key summer.  Although we didn't actually get out of town, except for Cobb Island, we did have lots of fun!  Here are some of the fun things we did.
  • LOTS of time at the pool. The kids graduated from this "sprinkler pool" and now we only go to the "big pool", which has a diving board and water slide.

  •  Our day at the National Harbor.  More about that here.
  • Ice cream with friends.
  •  July 4th fireworks.
  • Fun in the fire hydrant when the water company comes to do their annual testing.
  • Stone Tower Winery visits with friends.
  • 4th of July parade and annual neighborhood BBQ.

  • Several teeth were lost.
  • The kids and I went to a Children's Science Museum with friends.

  • Cooling off in the splash pad.
  • Peach picking at Great Country Farms.

  • That same night, I joined the family on my first camping "trip".  More on that in another post.

  • Family bowling.

  • We celebrated Mom T's birthday.
  • Kaitlyn rejoined gymnastics right at the end of the school year.  We've loved watching her get back into the gym.
  • And lastly, we enjoyed our annual Neighborhood Back-to-School dinner.
