Michelle & Ron visit Old Town Warsaw

A quick blog to share a variety of pics from the outing Michelle and I took on Labor Day while the kids were in school.  It was a bit chilly with the high being around 66 degrees but Michelle and I had an excellent time exploring our new city.  We plan to go back again soon with the kids, who were excited to see the sites for themselves.

From our house, we walked to one of the bus stops and took a 25 minute bus ride to old town.  Public transport is cheap and reliable, our bus ticket for up to 75 minutes worth of travel cost us $1.17 each.  Here's the view as walked into old town.

My new favorite picture of us.

One of the many, many churches in Warsaw.

Random hotel with a dummy on the windowsill.

Snapped this pic for Jonathan since he loves horses.

Yum!!  Lunch: traditional and white sausage on sauerkraut with horse radish and spicy mustard, along with pan-fried pierogies with mushroom and onion filling.  It was excellent!

A war museum and monuments.

We rented scooters to move around town and made our way to the Hard Rock Cafe for dessert.  Along the way, we saw large groups of protesters who were out to protest Poland's stance climate change initiatives.  It didn't stop us from splitting a delicious brownie sundae :)

Two interesting buildings as we were waiting for our Uber.  After Hard Rock we stopped at a mall to pick up a few things from IKEA before heading home.  All in all it was an excellent day and we're looking forward to additional outings as our schedules permit!
